The Gray Station Better Hometown began in 2001 with Mayor Jason Briley appointing a task force of Decius Aaron, City Superintendent, Tammy Brittain, Executive Director, Keep Jones Beautiful, Sandra McKinney, Exec. Dir. Gray/Jones Co. Chamber of Commerce, Claudia Pitrowski, Assistant City Clerk, and David Tufts, City Councilman, to begin process.
2002, Pat Daniels hired as Manager.
Gray Station name chosen because of historic
significance when railroad came through Gray's Station in 1905.
Persistant work continued until official designation
received as one of Ga.'s Better Hometowns in
2006 as well as National Main Street Accredidation.
Received National Main Street and Better
Hometown designation in 2007 and 2008.
